Karey Gaston
Executive Director
Born and raised in North Pole Alaska, Karey moved to Mat- Su Valley in 1985.
After joining Blood-n-Fire in 2005 Karey has worked tirelessly to grow the ministry so it can serve more people. All while being grandma extraordinaire and studying to be a pastor which she became in 2017.
Her faith in the Lord has been key to her success in this ministry. Karey is known for her ability to “Just Believe”. When it seems like a challange she will be found trusting God for the outcome!
Amber Odell
Knik House Program Director
Born in Santa Rosa California, Amber moved to Mat- Su Valley in 1978.
Amber joined our team April, 2015. Amber is a real “go-getter” with a no-nonsense approach to life that screams, “you can do it”. She has worked in many areas of the ministry from volunteer staff, resident assistant, administration, and program assistant. Now she is the Program Director. All while becoming a cosmetologist and caring for all the grand kids!
Her ability to see through the the mess to help people is a real inspiration to the entire team.
Donna Lealaisalanoa
KH Program Assistant
Born in Bethal, Alaska. raised in Emmonak, Alaska, and moved to Palmer, Alaska in 1998.
Donna joined our team in May 2022 working part-time as a Program Support Associate in our trantistional living program, while working on her CDC courses. She became KH Program Assistant December 2023.
Donna is supported by her husband, their 5 children & her extended family. When she is not working, she enjoys spending all of her free time with her loved ones & making forever memories together.
Donna was awarded the Virtuous Nobility Award for her selfless personality, and for her profound empathy, love and care for others, especially for the clients here at Knik House. She is a great addition to our team.
Racheal Hooks
Direct Services
Born in Anchorage, Alaska and has been a Valley resident since 1980.
Racheal joined our team in March 2022. Her heart for the community and working for non-profits began in 2014. She has continued to grow since starting with us in 2021 as a Knik House resident, resident aid, Blood n Fire Food Pantry volunteer. Then Administrative assistent, AHFC Stabilization Program Navigator as well as an all around assistant to all Blood n Fire programs provided.
Racheal has been blessed with 2 loving children, an amazing S/O and 1 beautifully bright granddaughter.
Her heart for the hurting is an asset to our team.
